Tapas Drone Project: DRDO will continue to work on the Tapas drone project, design will be improved to increase capacity.

Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) will continue the Tapas project.

Sources said an armed force has shown interest in using Tapas drones for operations in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. It can be used for surveillance and reconnaissance activities.

Tapas drone has also been tested by the defense forces. During this time it flew to a height of 28,000 feet. It is capable of flying for more than 18 hours.

However, it did not meet the standard of flying at an altitude of 30,000 feet for more than 24 hours continuously.
