Bilateral meeting will be held between Argentina’s Defense Minister and Rajnath Singh, deal may be finalized regarding Tejas aircraft.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will meet Argentine Defense Minister Jorge Taiana in Delhi on Tuesday. The bilateral meeting between the two Defense Ministers will discuss ways to strengthen defense and cooperation.

There will be talks on defense cooperation.

Explain that during the meeting, the two sides are expected to discuss ways to strengthen defense and cooperation between the two countries. Argentina has expressed an interest in the native Tejas LCA for their Air Force in 2022.

Final deal can be done regarding Tejas.

Earlier in June, Indian Ambassador to Argentina Dinesh Bhatia discussed cooperation in Tejas fighter jets and various helicopter options manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) with Argentine Air Force chief Brigadier General Javier Isaacs.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has also welcomed Argentina’s interest in the Tejas fighter aircraft.

He highlighted the importance of the proposal in enhancing the strategic ties of bilateral relations. Both sides agreed to promote cooperation in the defense sector.

Tejas is indigenous fighter jet.

Explain that the HAL Tejas is an Indian single-engine light combat aircraft, designed by the Aeronautical Development Agency in collaboration with the Aircraft Research and Design Center of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. to IAF and Indian Navy.

BIMSTEC Meeting: External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar attended the BIMSTEC meeting in Bangkok on Monday.

Issues related to food, health and energy security were discussed during the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Foreign Ministers’ Retreat.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who participated in the meeting, said that ‘a meaningful BIMSTEC retreat has just concluded in Bangkok.

An open and forward-looking discussion took place among colleagues.

The focus was on strengthening resilience and coordination among BIMSTEC members, reflecting the challenges we face today, explored new aspects and activities to enter new areas of cooperation.
