BJP leader GL Raina have accused the state administration on the issue of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits. Former BJP MLC raised questions on the quarters being built in the valley for Kashmiri Pandits.
Displaced Kashmiri Pandit leader and former BJP MLC GL Raina have accused the state administration of creating bottlenecks in making residential arrangements for Kashmiri Pandit personnel in Kashmir.
He said that under the Prime Minister’s Development Package, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had claimed that 6000 quarters would be built for Pandit personnel in Kashmir in 18 months.
Five thousand of these quarters were to be ready in the first fifteen months, but it has been approved to build four times fewer quarters.
According to the order of the General Administrative Department, 1648 quarters are to be built at six places in Kashmir at a cost of Rs 201 crore.
Raina expressed doubt that in view of the attitude of the administration, these quarters also do not seem to be ready in 18 months.
The former MLC insisted that the Lt. Governor get an inquiry into the matter as to why it is taking so long to give effect to this package released in 2008.
The Kashmiri Pandit community is being adversely affected due to the negligence of the administration.
He alleged that there are clear indications that the campaign to create a transit system in the valley for Kashmiri personnel is deliberately trying to damage.
Shopkeeper shot dead in Kashmir, Sumo driver attacked
With the release of notification of Panchayat by-election and formation of District Development Councils, terrorists have also intensified activities in Kashmir.

The doctors declared him dead. Half an hour later another group of terrorists knocked over Kakpora Pulwama. Stopped 30-year-old sumo taxi driver Mohammad Aslam in Wanpora. He attempted to run away.
