CBI Started Investigation Into Roshni Scam In Jammu And Kashmir

CBI started an investigation into the Roshni scam in Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu Kashmir.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday started an investigation into the government land scam in Jammu and Kashmir’s biggest ever Roshni scheme.

CBI has intensified the investigation by taking the responsibility of three FIRs already registered in this case. In the coming days, the action to get rid of the illegal occupation of government lands may intensify.

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court, while giving its verdict last month on the petition filed in connection with the scams in the Roshni scheme, directed the CBI to hand over its investigation.

CBI officials said that the CBI has now taken over the investigation under three FIRs filed by the Jammu and Kashmir Vigilance Organization (now Anti-Corruption Bureau).

In the first case, some officials of the Revenue Department in District Jammu have been accused of deliberately violating the Roshni Act.

The prescribed rules and procedures to benefit the illegal occupiers on government land and causing loss of crores of rupees to the exchequer.

The second case relates to some officials and personnel of the revenue department who was posted in the district Samba.

They are also accused of providing government land to certain people in violation of rules. The land price rates were also not decided by the committee to be constituted under the Illumination Act.

This land has also been given at the cost of clams and the government treasury has suffered heavily.

The third FIR is against a private individual special and unknown officials of the revenue department.

The man, who lives in the posh Gandhinagar area called Jammu’s posh, colluded with some officials of the Revenue Department Jammu and Jammu Development Authority (JDA).

He obtained the ownership rights of five Kanal two Marla government land in Dilli, Jammu.

In addition to getting the government land in his name in association with the officials of the revenue department, the said person also obtained permission to build a commercial establishment on it.
