Chinese army removes temporary constructions built in Gogra, soldiers withdraw from confrontation site after 15 months of the standoff.

Taking a major step towards ending the military confrontation along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, India and China have withdrawn their troops from the Gogra area.

The two countries have also demolished all temporary construction and infrastructure built on this forward front, along with withdrawing troops from Patrolling Point 17A of the LAC in Gogra.

For the last 15 months, the soldiers of both countries were in a state of confrontation at this patrolling point of Gogra.

Negotiations will continue on the remaining issues.

With the withdrawal of troops, both the countries also agreed to continue further talks to resolve the standoff in the remaining areas along the LAC.

Both the countries have also agreed not to unilaterally change the status quo on the LAC.

In a statement issued by the Indian Army, it has been said that the process of withdrawing its troops from the Gogra area in two days.

As agreed by the military commanders of India-China in the 12th round of talks at Chushul-Moldo post on July 31. Both countries withdrew their troops from Patrolling Point 17A on August 4-5.

In the Gogra area, since May last year, the soldiers of both countries were standing in a face-to-face confrontation.

However, the number of troops and equipment from both the countries in Gogra was less as compared to the deployment in Galvan and Pangong Lake areas.

Earlier, soldiers were removed from Galvan and Pangong lake.

Before Gogra, both the countries had created a buffer zone hereby withdrawing their troops from the north and south banks of Galvan, Pangong Lake.

After several rounds of talks after the withdrawal of troops in the Pangong Lake area in February this year, the troops have been removed from the Gogra area by both sides.

Now the standoff between Haat Spring and Depsang.

Now the soldiers of India and China are stationed in the situation of confrontation in these two areas, Haat Spring and Depsang on the LAC.

The army has also mentioned the commitment made by both sides in the commander talks to resolve the conflict in the rest of the LAC.

The Army has also made it clear that it is committed to maintaining peace and stability along the LAC in the Western Sector in association with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.

India had already clarified its stand.

Significantly, India had already said that any unilateral change in the status quo in the border areas of the LAC would not be acceptable.

Recently, in the 12th round of military-level talks between the two countries, India clearly told China to immediately withdraw its troops and weapons from Hat Spring, Gogra, and other points of confrontation in eastern Ladakh.

India has been consistently emphasizing that the resolution of all issues including Depsang, Hat Spring, and Gogra is essential for the restoration of bilateral and normal relations between the two countries.
