Construction Of The Arch Of Rail Bridge Completed: J&K

Construction of the arch of the world’s highest rail bridge being built on the river Chenab, completed.

Engineers engaged in the construction of the world’s highest railway bridge over the Chenab river in Reasi, Jammu, to connect Kashmir with the rest of India, has created history.

The construction of the arch for the foundation of the bridge is almost complete in due course. Soon the work of laying an iron bridge on it will begin.

The bridge is being built at an altitude of 359 meters above the river level at a cost of 1400 crores. The bridge is also 35 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower.

By December 2021, the world’s highest rail bridge will be ready. Construction of about 111 km long Katra-Banihal section in Jammu Baramulla Rail section is going on fast.

This section has to pass through 97.6 km of tunnel and bridge. It has completed construction of 85 km. A 60.5 km long SKP tunnel is being used for emergencies, in which the construction of a 53.50 km tunnel has been completed.

The project will be completed by the year 2021-22. About 96 cables are being used to support the bridge.

Railways working to build roads: Indian Railways is working to build roads here in the Katra Banihan rail section. A total of 205 km of road construction work has been done in district Reasi and Ramban.

Railway Minister Piyush Goyal recently expressed satisfaction with the ongoing construction works on the Jammu Baramulla rail section.

He hoped that the project would be completed within the stipulated time. He described the country’s ambitious project as being built in very difficult conditions.

A center of tourist attraction: Railway line has already been laid from Banihal to Baramulla. The unique pattern of engineering can become a center of tourist attraction in the area.

This bridge will also accelerate the economic development of the state and tourists will also be able to get a better option of transportation.

What happens Arch: Such technology and equipment are being used in Chenab bridge, which is the first of its kind in the world.

For example, this is the first time the construction of such a high bridge has formed the basis of crescent or arch technique (arch). This arc joins one end in a crescent with the other.

After the construction of the arch, the bridge will now be laid again. One end of the bridge is in Kauri of Reasi and the other end is in Bakkal.

These are the characteristics:

The signal in the bridge will turn red as soon as the wind speed exceeds 90 km per hour. The train passing through the bridge will stop.

The bridge will have two tracks and trains can run on it at a speed of 100 km.

There will be a ropeway lift. Sensors will be installed in it. It will be immediately known if there is a defect in it.
