DRDO Sub-Machine Gun Successfully Tested

DRDO Sub-Machine Gun successfully tested can be added in the weaponry of the armed forces: Ministry of Defense.

The 5.56330 mm sub-machine gun designed by the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has successfully passed the Ministry of Defense user trials.

This information was given on Thursday. The successful testing of sub-machine guns has paved the way for joining the armed forces, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The joint protective venture carbine (JVPC) designed by DRDO is a gas-powered semi-automatic weapon.

This carbine fires 700 cycles a minute. The final phase of user trials was completed on Monday.

“This was the final stage of a series of user tests, which are performed at extreme temperatures in summer and at high altitudes in winter,” the statement said.

Targets up to 100 meters away from this turbine can be effectively pierced. It weighs about three kilograms.

The leading news agency quoted the Ministry of Defense as saying that this carbine was made under a joint venture. It has met stringent performance criteria of reliability and accuracy.

Recently, the news agency had informed about another achievement of DRDO, the Defense Research and Development Organization. DRDO had successfully tested communication through Quantum Key Distribution, QKD technology.

The DRDO conducted this test of communication between its two laboratories on Wednesday.

Indeed, secure communication is important around the world for defense and strategic agencies. Quantum-based communication is considered extremely secure.

This does not risk leaking information. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated DRDO for the successful testing of QKD-based communication between two laboratories in Hyderabad.

The Defense Research and Development Laboratory (Defense Research and Development Laboratory, DRDL) and the Research Center building (Research Center Imarat, RCI) participated in this trial.
