Grenade Recovered in Kupwara: Rusted grenade recovered from Kupwara bus stand, stirred by people.

A grenade was stirred up in the bus stand of the district Kupwara in North Kashmir this morning. The bomb defunct squad has captured the grenade.

The police are now ascertaining whether it was an attack or whether the grenade was lying here.

According to the information received from the police, around 10.30 am, they were informed that a grenade was lying in the Kupwara main bus stand.

The police reached the spot as soon as the information was received. The police officer involved in the team said that the grenade was rusted.

Nevertheless, the bus stand was evacuated keeping in mind the safety of the people. Meanwhile, the bomb defunct squad was also called to the spot.

The bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough investigation of the grenade and captured it very safely. He told that this grenade is very old and it was completely rusted.

Following the incident of the grenade seizure at the bus stand, the police team has started investigating whether it was a grenade attack or whether the grenade has been kept here.

For this, CCTV footage installed in and around the bus stand is being scrutinized. Complete information in this regard will be given only after the completion of the investigation.

Nagrota police arrested two Kashmiri youths coming to Jammu with a consignment of drugs from Kashmir with heroin worth lakhs of rupees.

50 grams of heroin were recovered from the accused. The police also seized the car in which the consignment was being brought to Jammu.

The interrogation of Suhail Ahmed Rather resident Palpora, Pulwama, and Tawheed Ahmed Bhatt resident Naunagari, Pulwama, is being interrogated.

On the concrete information of the drug smuggling, police personnel blocked the toll on Nagrota Ban of Jammu Srinagar National Highway.

During this time, police personnel stopped the car number JK13D-5570 coming from Kashmir towards Jammu for investigation.

The car riders broke the barrier and tried to escape from there. Since the police had strong information that the said car contained a consignment of intoxication.

Police personnel immediately set the barricade on fire and did not allow the car to escape from the barrier. Both the occupants of the car were immediately taken down from the vehicle.

Searching for both, a packet was recovered from them. During the investigation of the packet, the narcotic heroin was recovered from inside it.

Both the occupants of the car were taken into custody. Both were taken directly to the Nagrota police station for questioning.
