Gujarat ATS Foils Major ISIS Terror Plot: Three Terrorists with Pakistan Links Arrested in Gandhinagar
Gujarat ATS Foils Major ISIS Terror Plot: The Gujarat ATS has foiled a major terrorist plot, arresting three ISIS-linked terrorists in Gandhinagar’s Adalaj area. The suspects, from Uttar Pradesh and Hyderabad, had ties to Pakistan’s intelligence network and planned nationwide attacks.
In a major counter-terrorism breakthrough, the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has successfully foiled a planned terror attack in the state, arresting three suspected ISIS terrorists from the Adalaj area of Gandhinagar. The operation marks a significant step in India’s ongoing fight against global terror networks.
According to official sources, the ATS acted on a precise intelligence tip-off about a terrorist conspiracy brewing in Adalaj. Swiftly launching a coordinated operation, the team apprehended the suspects before they could execute their plans.

Gujarat ATS Foils Major ISIS Terror Plot: Two Terrorists from Uttar Pradesh, One from Hyderabad
The initial investigation has revealed that two of the arrested suspects hail from Uttar Pradesh, while the third is from Hyderabad. The trio reportedly came to Gujarat to procure weapons and prepare for large-scale terror attacks in multiple Indian cities.
Officials disclosed that the suspects were working under direct instructions from handlers associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency and had established contact with ISIS operatives overseas. The ATS had been tracking their movements for several months before the arrests were made.
Cache of Weapons and Explosives Recovered
During the raid, the ATS recovered two Glock pistols, one Beretta pistol, 30 live cartridges, and four liters of castor oil, which investigators believe could have been intended for making explosives. Authorities stated that the suspects were part of two distinct terror modules, both aligned with ISIS’s broader objectives to spread violence in India.
A senior ATS officer said in a statement, “All three accused were under surveillance for nearly a year. They were caught supplying weapons and were planning coordinated attacks in various parts of the country. Their timely arrest has averted a potential disaster.”
Pattern of Terror Activity in Gujarat
This incident is the latest in a series of successful operations carried out by the Gujarat ATS in recent months. Within just three months, the agency has arrested 12 suspected terrorists from different parts of India.
Earlier, in a separate operation, the ATS arrested five Al-Qaeda operatives, including a woman named Sama Parveen from Bengaluru, who was found to have strong links with Pakistan-based terror outfits. On July 23, another four Al-Qaeda-linked terrorists were detained, underscoring Gujarat ATS’s proactive role in neutralizing terror threats before they could escalate.
Gujarat ATS Foils Major ISIS Terror Plot: Ongoing Investigations and National Security Implications
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) have reportedly joined the probe to uncover the larger network of ISIS operatives operating across India. Investigators are examining whether the trio was planning attacks in crowded urban centers or key infrastructure sites.
Authorities are also probing possible connections between the Adalaj module and foreign funding channels, with early leads indicating international coordination.
