Indigo plane skids off runway at Jorhat airport, lives of 98 passengers narrowly saved: Assam.

A flight of private airline Indigo has survived an accident. Kolkata-bound Indigo flight skidded off the runway.

The plane got stuck in the mud after skidding off the runway. Thankfully no passenger was injured during this time. The flight took off from Jorhat in Assam to Kolkata.

Indio Airlines has given information about this incident. The airline was quoted as saying that during take-off from Jorhat, the plane skidded on the runway and got stuck in the mud.

No passenger was hurt in this incident. The airline also said that a team has been constituted to investigate the incident. During the initial inspection of the aircraft, no abnormality was noticed.

There were 98 passengers on the plane.

According to the news agency, a total of 98 passengers were on board the plane. IndiGo flight 6E-757 took off at 2.20 pm on Thursday.

During take-off, the wheels of the aircraft came off the runway and got stuck in the mud. The incident was informed to the concerned authorities.

With the help of the Indian Air Force, the passengers were deboarded from the aircraft. The Indian Air Force is maintaining the airport. The flight was later canceled.

Indio Airlines issued a statement saying, ‘The pilot carried out the taxi procedure as a precaution and asked for a necessary inspection. The aircraft was taken back to Jorhat for inspection.

No abnormalities were observed during the initial inspection. A thorough inspection of the incident has been launched. Thereafter the flight was canceled.

Significantly, in the last few days, there have been many incidents with Indigo flights.

Recently, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia in a written reply in the Lok Sabha said that between 1 July 2021 and 30 June 2022, there were a total of 478 incidents related to technical failure in aircraft
