IMD Alert: Heavy Rain May Occur In Gujarat, Rajasthan, MP

IMD alert: ‘Heavy rain’ may occur in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that there is a possibility of heavy rains in Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.

The Meteorological Department has also said that rains in North India are expected to resume after July 28.

According to the Meteorological Department, a Monsoon Trough is moving southwards from its normal position, due to which there is a possibility of heavy rains over the West Coast and Central India.

IMD alert: A Monsoon Trough is a long area of low pressure, which brings heavy and uneven rains.

According to IMD, the trough is very likely to remain at the same location during the next 2-3 days and then move northwards towards its normal position from July 27 for the next 3-4 days.

While a cyclonic circulation is also persisting over South-East Madhya Pradesh and its adjoining lower and middle troposphere levels.

According to the IMD, there is a possibility of very heavy rains in Gujarat and West Madhya Pradesh on July 25. Whereas on July 25, there is a possibility of heavy rain in East Rajasthan.

Apart from this, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand from July 24 to 28.

The IMD said that due to the southward advance of the Monsoon Trough, there will be a decrease in rainfall over northern parts of the country but rains will increase over central India.

Then after July 28, when the trough will return to its normal position, the rain will resume in the northern states.

IMD’s forecast said that from August 5 to August 18, there may be a significant reduction in rainfall in North and Central India.

According to a special bulletin of the IMD last week, the monsoon rains in India may reduce slightly next month.
