Vijayan appeals to Chief Ministers of non-BJP ruled states, appeal to Center to ask for free vaccine.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday wrote a letter to the chief ministers of 11 non-NDA ruled states.

He has requested the chief ministers to jointly urge the central government to procure the vaccines and distribute them free of cost.

Vijayan said in the letter – the central government should give free vaccine.

Vijayan has said in the letter that it is important that vaccines should be provided free of cost as public good. Due to lack of financial means, victims should not be deprived.

He also said that the burden of purchasing the vaccine has been left entirely to the states. This will affect their financial condition.

Chief Minister said- intensive preparation and vigilance is needed to deal with the third wave.

He said, ‘When the nation is passing through the second wave of Corona, it is unfortunate that the Center is absolving itself of its duty of providing adequate supply of vaccine.

The impact of the second wave has been unprecedented, putting us all at risk. Experts have also warned of a third wave. To deal with that situation also requires our intense preparation and alertness.
