Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir): Two Terrorists were gun down by Security Forces in an encounter, the gunfight is as yet in progress. Two terrorists were gun down by Security Forces in an encounter in south Kashmir’s Kulgam region, authorities said.

The gunfight ejected on Monday morning when security forces propelled a cordon and search activity at Mirwani Damhal, Hanjipora, zone following an intelligence input about the terrorists ‘ presence.

“As the cordon was being laid, concealing terrorists started shooting set off a gunfight. In the activity up until now, two terrorists have been killed so far,” an authority stated, including that the encounter is as yet in progress.

The identity of the killed terrorists has not been discovered at this point. In the meantime, mobile phone network access has been suspended in Kulgam and neighboring Shopian area as a prudent step.

In yet another terrorism-related activity security forces on Sunday captured four associates of Lashkar-e-Taiba a banned terrorist organization(LET) from  Budgam district, an authority said.

“Police in Budgam alongside security forces have captured four Terrorist associates including top terror partner of prohibited terrorist outfit(LeT) and recovered a large number of arms and ammunition from their ownership,” a police representative said. The captured people have been identified as Waseem Ganie, Farooq Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Yasin, and Azharuddin Mir, he said. The representative said implicating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from their ownership.

According to the police records, the captured people were engaged with this banned terrorist organization(LET) to provide logistical support, shelter, and inputs about the movements of the police and army personals to the active terrorists in the Budgam district of central Kashmir, over a period of time Budgam , considered to be terrorists free district has been witnessing many incidents related to the terror insurgency.
