On the basis of suspicion, the jawans were stopping some people and searched them. During this, a young man tried to escape after seeing the block and changed his way.

The soldiers posted at the block chased him and caught him. To escape, he also tried to fire with a pistol hidden in his clothes but failed.

Lashkar terrorist arrested: The arrested terrorist has been identified as Mohammad Iqbal Butt. A pistol, a magazine, and seven cartridges were found in his possession.

The security forces arrested him and started interrogating him. During this, it was learned that he was in constant contact with Lashkar commander Saifullah and Abu Jarrar sitting in POK.

Iqbal, a resident of Tilgam Payen in Baramulla, earlier worked as an overground worker for Lashkar.

He had also collected the explosives needed for the IED blast in Narbal and Renji areas on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway a few days ago.

Now he was trying to execute a conspiracy to attack Panchayat representatives and workers of other states in Baramulla and its adjoining areas.

Police officials claimed that the target killing conspiracy was foiled by Iqbal’s arrest. His interrogation continues.
