Para Commandos Also Landed In Search Of 10 Terrorists: LOC

Para commandos also landed in search of 10 terrorists hiding in Uri, the biggest infiltration in eight years: Infiltration Along LoC.

The biggest terrorist infiltration has taken place in North Kashmir in the last eight years.

About 10 terrorists have infiltrated two days ago in the Uri (Baramulla) sector along the Line of Control. However, nothing has been said about the number of terrorists from the army.

On the other hand, mobile and internet services remained suspended in the Uri sector on Tuesday as well.

However, the military operation in search of the infiltrators continued for the second consecutive day on Monday. A contingent of para commandos is also involved in the search operation.

The administration has suspended internet and mobile phone services in various parts of Uri and Baramulla as a precautionary measure.

This step has been taken to prevent any contact between the intruders, their local contacts, guides, and those hiding them and to curb rumors.

In the early hours of Sunday, a group of terrorists armed with automatic weapons had attempted to infiltrate the area of Angoori Post in the Uri sector.

A jawan was injured in the encounter that followed. The terrorists had escaped under the cover of forest and rain.

Army officials said that special checkpoints have also been put in all major roads and drains leading from the Uri sector towards interior areas of Kashmir.

The entire area where the infiltration has taken place is under siege. The army is also taking the help of its sniffer dogs.

Suspicious elements and old guides of terrorists are also being monitored in the settlements located in forwarding areas of Uri.

Para commandos also landed in search of 10 terrorists: Army’s 15th Corps Commander Lt Gen DP Pandey also confirmed the military operation in Uri.

Although the army has not given any information about the number of terrorists who have infiltrated in Uri, according to local sources, the number of infiltrators is around 10.

This is the biggest infiltration in this sector so far in the last seven-eight years. According to the army, the infiltration took place in the early hours of Sunday.

But if sources are to be believed, the infiltration must have taken place on Saturday 18 September, because in 2016, Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists attacked the Uri Brigade Headquarters on the morning of 18 September.

According to sources, the terrorists may be sitting in hiding trying to attack any Indian Army patrol along the LoC or any forward post and the army personnel may have seen them.

Only after this, there would have been a small encounter between the terrorists and the soldiers.

Twice infiltration after the ceasefire agreement:

This is the second infiltration attempt of terrorists on the LoC in North Kashmir from POK after the ceasefire agreement on the LoC by the Pakistani Army in February this year.

Earlier in June, there was an infiltration along the LoC in Bandipora. The three infiltrating terrorists have been killed in separate encounters.

Simultaneous search operation at many places in Poonch:

Police, CRPF, and Army’s RR Battalion carried out simultaneous searches at several places since Monday morning after the suspect was spotted in the forested areas of Manganad top of Poonch district.

Launched a search operation. During this, the forested areas were explored.

Security forces had received reports of suspicious sightings in the areas near the Line of Control in the Degwar sector on Sunday. Since then the search operation is going on.
