Secret income of 17 crores is exposed in the survey of institutions associated with Anil Deshmukh.

In a recent survey conducted on former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his relatives and institutions, the Income Tax Department has unearthed hidden income of Rs 17 crore.

The hidden income which is difficult to identify is called hidden income.

Official sources said on Monday that the IT Department has also detected financial irregularities in a Nagpur-based trust linked to NCP leader Deshmukh, which runs three educational institutions.

CBDT also claimed financial irregularities in a trust belonging to the former Maharashtra home minister.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) said, “The evidence found during the survey clearly shows that income of Rs 17 crore was concealed.”

The CBDT said that on September 17, raids were conducted at 30 locations of a prominent Nagpur-based personality and his relatives located in Nagpur, Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata.

Official sources have identified the prominent figure as Deshmukh.

The CBDT said that the use of several bank lockers found during the searches has been banned.

These cases are being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

According to the Enforcement Directorate, Anil Deshmukh, when he was the state home minister, allegedly abused his position and extorted Rs 4.70 crore from various ‘bars’ and restaurants in Mumbai through sacked Mumbai Police officer Sachin Waze.
