A Thai Navy statement said strong winds capsized the 252-foot (76.8 m) long corvette HTMS Sukhothai, causing seawater to enter exhaust pipes and subsequently shutting down the ship’s electrical system.

The power outage caused the ship’s main electrical system to fail, leaving the crew unable to maneuver or pump out seawater.

It was told that the marines kept trying for more than 3 hours but could not get the water out.
