The Blast Occurred At Karachi University Of Pakistan
The blast occurred at Karachi University of Pakistan, killing four including two Chinese nationals, and many others injured: Karachi blast.
There has been a massive explosion in Pakistan’s Karachi University. According to Pakistani media, the blast took place in a car parked on the university campus.
Four people, including two Chinese nationals, have died in the blast. Many are seriously injured.
Flames are seen in a white car in TV footage. Plumes of smoke are rising from inside the car from all sides. Police and rescue personnel have reached the spot of the incident.
Giving more details of the blast, rescue personnel said that a ‘cylinder explosion’ occurred in a van near Maskan Chowringhee. However, the police are yet to comment on the blast.
Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah ordered an inquiry.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken cognizance of the incident and directed the Anti-Terrorism Department and SSP East to reach the spot immediately.
Shah issued instructions to shift the injured to Dow University Hospital and also asked the Karachi commissioner to submit an inquiry report.

Giving more details on the incident, Eastern Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Muqaddas Haider told reporters that nothing can be said at the moment.
Meanwhile, Gulshan’s superintendent of police (SP) said that the investigation is on whether the blast was a terrorist act or an accident.
The SP has called a bomb disposal squad at the site of the incident, while the dead and injured have been admitted to a nearby hospital, where the condition of the three injured is stated to be critical.
Meanwhile, Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Nabi Memon said that according to preliminary investigation, a woman wearing a burqa could be involved in the suicide blast.
