Jammu and Kashmir: drug smuggling through courier companies, 67 thousand pills recovered.
Drug peddlers in Jammu and Kashmir have started ordering banned drugs through courier companies in Kashmir to avoid police and other agencies.
The Drug Controller’s Department recovered 23 thousand tablets worth Rs 67 thousand while exposing one such case on Tuesday.
The Drug Controller had received information that a consignment of banned narcotics had arrived in Srinagar through a courier service by air.
A large consignment of drugs was recovered.
To catch it, a special team was formed under the leadership of Deputy Controller Nigat Jabeen. The team raided the office of a courier service and recovered a huge consignment of banned drugs.
The name of the supplier company and the person who ordered it was written on this consignment. Action is being taken against both of them under the relevant law.
