Operation Kaveri: So far 3800 people from Sudan have returned to their country.

‘Operation Kaveri’ is being run by the Central Government to evacuate the stranded Indians from Sudan.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Thursday that India has rescued around 3,800 people from Sudan under Operation Kaveri.

Giving information on Twitter, Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that another Indian Air Force aircraft left from Jeddah for Delhi with a batch of 47 people.

He tweeted and wrote, “IAF C-130J aircraft with 47 people from Sudan is on its way from Jeddah to Delhi. Under Operation Kaveri, around 3,800 people have been rescued from Sudan so far.

Operation Kaveri: So far 3800 people from Sudan. India has been evacuating its citizens under Operation Kaveri since the conflict broke out in the northeast African country last month.

On 15 April, after clashes broke out in Khartoum and other parts of Sudan, the Indian government launched the operation.

The government immediately deployed Indian Navy ships and Air Force aircraft to evacuate Indians stranded in Sudan.

During the 10 days of Operation Kaveri, hundreds of Indians were evacuated in several batches.

The Embassy has facilitated and facilitated the movement of buses from different parts of Sudan to reach Port Sudan.
