Tamil Nadu opposes the construction of a dam project on the Markandeya river in Karnataka.

Now Tamil Nadu Water Resources Minister S Durai Murugan informed that the government is opposing the construction of a dam project on the Markandeya river in Karnataka.

He urged the central government to constitute a tribunal to resolve the issue. According to media reports, Karnataka is building a dam on the Markandeya river nearby.

It is being told that Karnataka has also obtained the necessary permission to build a dam across the Markandeya river to store 500 million cubic meters of water at a cost of Rs 240 crore.

However, objecting to the project, Tamil Nadu reached the Supreme Court against the dam on the river.

During this, it claimed that the construction of the dam by Karnataka would hinder the natural flow. Apart from this, a large number of people in Tamil Nadu are dependent on it.

Tamil Nadu opposes the construction: App launched in Karnataka for tree counting, Forest Department and Greater Bangalore Municipal Corporation have prepared.

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has launched the Bengaluru Tree Sensation App. All the trees and plants of the state will be counted through this app.

People of Bangalore will be able to download this app on their Apple or Android devices. Apart from uploading photos through this app, GPS coordinates and other details can also be entered.

This will be verified by the forest officials. BBMP has developed this app with the help of the Karnataka Forest Department.

BBMP’s deputy conservator of the forest department HC Ranganaswamy said that the application has been developed in such a way that people can comfortably upload information on it, including GPS readings, tree measurements, etc.
